Now that the 2012 Paris Motor Show has come and gone, Porsche enthusiasts find themselves questioning whether the newly revealed Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept will make its way to the production line.
And, this is an understandable inquiry considering just how thrilling this new Porsche plug-in hybrid model is. However, as it turns out the Turismo Concept is unfortunately not going to make it to production after all. But don't get disappointed yet, what is happening is arguably even more exciting.
Why?
Well, because according to Matthias Müller, AG
President and CEO, the reason behind not bringing the Panamera Sport Turismo
Concept to production is because all the features it offers are simply too much
for just one model to contain. And, because of this, Porsche has decided to
incorporate them in several different future models.
Now, the most exciting aspect of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept is undoubtedly the plug-in hybrid powertrain. And, because of this, Porsche has confirmed that both the Porsche Panamera and Porsche Cayenne will offer plug-in hybrid variants as soon as next year.
