This year marks a major milestone in the Porsche brand's history: the luxury sports car company ranked highest among all nameplates in the J.D. Power and Associates' annual Initial Quality Study for the first time in the nameplate's history. The automaker beat out 33 international car companies to earn this title, and two of its new models stood out in their respective segments as well.
Every year, J.D. Power and Associates conducts a survey that asks drivers about any problems that they had with their new vehicle during the first 90 days of ownership. Brands were then scored based on how many problems were reported. Porsche earned first place by only having 80 problems per 100 vehicles, which is far below the industry standard of 113.
So, which two vehicles earned the top honors in their respective segments?
The first is the iconic Porsche 911, which landed at the top of the Midsize Premium Sport Car Segment for the second year in a row.
The second vehicle is the sporty Porsche Boxster. This two-door convertible had the best scores in the Compact Premium Sporty Car segment.
Here at Porsche of Plano, we're incredibly proud that our vehicles are high-quality and reliable long after they've left our showroom floor. We hope that the only time you need to schedule an appointment with our onsite service department is for regular maintenance like an oil change, and this award is validation that this is most definitely the case.
