The Geneva Motor Show is underway, and we at Porsche of Plano couldn't be more thrilled about it. That's because our favorite automaker, Porsche, is currently debuting its all-new 2014 911 GT3 and we're here to share the details with you, our readers.
To start off, the new Porsche 911 GT3 features a brand-new engine in the form of a 3.8-liter boxer capable of making up to 475 horsepower with dual-clutch transmission. The engine is similar to that found in the 911 Carrera S except for its crankshift and valve gear. The 911 GT3 also takes many cues from high-performance racing vehicles allowing it to sprint from zero-to-sixty in just 3.3 seconds.
Active rear wheel steering is another new perk for the Porsche 911 GT3 and assists in the delivery of increased precision and lateral dynamics. The mechanism is dependent on speed which dictates if the rear wheels will steer in the same or opposite direction as the front ones. Said wheels are 20-inch forged alloy.
Borrowing again from the design scheme of the 911 Carrera, the frame of the 911 GT3 is quite strong in spite of being extremely lightweight. The body's overall composition is forged from aluminum and hybrid steel. The rear of the auto features a unique fixed wing for improved aerodynamics.
