Martini Racing is making its long awaited return to racing with its partner, Porsche. The official racing brand of the Italian distillery Martini & Rossi first sponsored two of the automaker's 906 race cars in 1968, beginning a long history of collaboration between the two luxury companies.
In the past, the Martini name has been associated with Formula One and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and for its return to racing, it will be in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup one-make series, a race that is built around the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. We're sure that the event will be at the forefront of racing news, especially since the car will be driven by the legendary Sebastien Loeb, along with a second driver that has yet to be named.
The car will sport the distinctive dark blue, light blue, and red stripes of Martini Racing, and this marks the first time this styling has been used since 2008.
Here at Porsche of Plano, we can't wait to see how this partnership evolves. The brand is returning to the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans this year with a GTE entry, and we certainly hope to see the Martini livery make an appearance at that race as well.
